President Bola Tinubu has instructed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to Kebbi State on Wednesday to express condolences to the state government.

In a statement from his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president reassured parents and guardians of the kidnapped schoolgirls that the government is committed to their prompt rescue.

He praised Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris for his efforts to prevent the kidnapping and expressed dismay over the security breach that resulted in the unfortunate abduction of girls from the boarding school in Maga, Kebbi State.

“I encourage you, in regions experiencing security issues, to share information and intelligence that can assist the military, the police, and the DSS in making the communities safer,” he stated.

Tinubu conveyed his sorrow over the kidnapping of the schoolgirls, despite prior intelligence warnings regarding a potential attack by the bandits.
