President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in Tuesday’s fire outbreak at the Afriland Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President also extended sympathy to the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, United Bank for Africa, UBA, Plc, and Afriland Properties Limited, all of whom were affected by the tragic incident.

Tinubu described the loss of lives as painful and prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.

The President commended the timely intervention of emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service, health workers, and concerned citizens, who played vital roles in the evacuation and rescue operations.

While urging organizations and individuals to prioritize safety measures, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of vigilance and regular training to reduce the risk of such disasters in the future.

“May God Almighty comfort the bereaved families, receive the souls of the departed, and grant quick healing to the injured,” the President stated.
