Ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial election, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has declared that Osun State belongs to the ruling party.

Igbokwe made the assertion in a short post he shared on his official Facebook page on Wednesday.

According to him, the political dynamics in the state, coupled with President Bola Tinubu’s status as a native of Osun, gives the APC an advantage in the election.

He wrote, “To all intents and purposes, and given the current situation, the political dynamics, and PBAT’s factor as a bonafide citizen of Osun State, I make bold to say that Osun is APC. Take it to any Bank of your choice.”

His comment came just days before the governorship election, with the APC and Accord Party emerging as the major contenders.

The state’s incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, has repeatedly alleged that the ruling party has been using federal power to intimidate leaders and supporters of the Accord Party ahead of the poll.
