Bisi Akande, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that President Bola Tinubu is committed to freeing Nigeria’s resources from illegal foreign exploitation.
Akande stated that Tinubu is dedicated to fortifying Nigeria against saboteurs and neo-colonialist critics.
He made these remarks in Ado Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, while presenting a lecture titled ‘Governance, Structural Reforms and the Economic Landscape of Nigeria in the 21st Century’ during the inaugural Joel Babatola Annual Lectures organized by the Ekiti Council of Elders.
He emphasized that the president is concentrating on human capital development in the fields of science and technology to better equip the youth.
According to Akande, Tinubu is focused on “strengthening Nigerian unity against indigenous retrogressive saboteurs and neo-colonialist critics, while working to liberate Nigerian resources from extensive illegal foreign exploitations, especially in light of the looming threat of invasion from global powers and international entities.”
He mentioned that the agenda aims at rapid infrastructure growth, particularly in transportation and electricity, through collaboration between the private sector and various levels of government, to enhance agricultural and industrial processing and facilitate the movement of goods between urban and rural areas.
This statement comes amid threats from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to invade Nigeria following reports of genocide against Christians.
Trump has threatened military action that would eliminate Islamic terrorists targeting Christians in the northern region of the country.
