Tinubu didn’t exploit Buhari’s death — Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu exploited the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari died in London last week Sunday and was brought back to Daura in Katsina State, where he was buried.

Tinubu personally led a delegation to Daura, where he received Buhari’s corpse.

The delegation led by Tinubu was on ground until Buhari was buried in his residence in Daura.

Displeased with his presence, there were claims that the president exploited his predecessor’s death to get Northern sympathy ahead of 2027.

However, Sani rubbished such claims, stressing that Tinubu immortalized Buhari.

Posting on X, the former lawmaker said Tinubu declared a public holiday and Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting to honour Buhari’s memory.

According to Sani, the deceased would never do such a thing.

He wrote: “The President physically attended the burial of Buhari, met with his family, declared a public holiday, held a FEC meeting in his honor and renamed a university to immortalise him, something even the late President never did to others and yet they said he is ‘exploiting the death of Buhari’.

“What would they have said if he had done none of the above? Politics is something else.”;
