Tinubu approves Kolmani oil project continuation, orders issuance of pending licenses

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved the continuation of the Kolmani oil drilling project located between Bauchi and Gombe states.

The Minister of Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, announced this in a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media, Nneamaka Okafo.

According to the statement, the President has approved the issuance of all remaining licenses necessary to proceed with the Kolmani oil drilling project.

The Minister added, “The Nigerian government has already established an oil and gas research center in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State to ensure the sustainability and success of the project’s continuation.”;;

The Kolmani oil drilling project commenced in November 2022. The initiative allowed the exploration of crude oil in northern Nigeria.
