One thing I am committed to this year is keeping my body moisturized.

I have long overlooked the skin below my chin, but a recent flare-up has prompted me to improve my routine. This week, I tested three body creams to determine which one is the best.

Garnier Body Repair Body Lotion for Dry Skin, £6.99 for 400ml, superdrug.com

When the "queen of skincare" speaks, the world pays attention, which is why this body lotion often sells out quickly. It has been a long-time favorite of hers, and her devoted followers purchase it repeatedly.

Unfortunately, I find it a bit too heavy for daily use all over my body. However, it has worked wonders on my eczema-prone areas and would be excellent for dry, cracked heels as well.

My skin felt hydrated for days after use, so if you prefer not to apply lotion every day, it could function well as a weekly treatment.

Mid-Range

CeraVe Moisturising Cream, £12 for 177ml, boots.com

I never imagined that a product designed for "dry to very dry skin" would be something I would enjoy using. I typically dislike oily textures and heavy formulas that take forever to absorb, so I usually opt for lightweight products suited for oily skin. However, this cream magically hydrates without feeling greasy.

It absorbs easily, and while there is a slight residue left behind, it doesn't feel tacky or transfer onto my clothes.

I appreciate that the formula is fragrance-free, which is excellent for those with sensitive or easily irritated skin.

It also comes in a larger tub, offering better value, but I prefer the convenience of the tube packaging.

Luxury

Ouai Body Crème Melrose Place, £32 for 212g, sephora.co.uk

Ouai is one of the most underrated brands, particularly regarding their body care products.

Founded by Jen Atkin, who is famous for being Kim Kardashian’s hairstylist, this luxurious brand is accessible in terms of price. Let me tell you that the texture and finish of this body lotion is remarkably similar to La Mer’s much pricier offering.

It’s thick and rich but does not feel oily. It spreads easily over the skin, keeping it hydrated all day and night until I shower again.

Pick of the Week

If you’ve ever been curious about retinol, the high-street hero skincare brand Inkey has launched a duo of serums: Inkey Starter Retinol Serum for £12 and Inkey Advanced Retinal Serum for £15, making the process seamless.

Use the Starter a few times a week to build your tolerance.

Once you’ve finished the tube, you can transition to the Advanced serum, which is also ideal for those already familiar with retinol.

It contains 0.2% encapsulated Retinaldehyde, proven to work 11 times faster than standard
