THOMAS TUCHEL has swung the axe on his England squad — with eight players sent packing just days before the Japan clash.
The Three Lions boss is trimming his group after the underwhelming draw with Uruguay, as he edges closer to naming his World Cup squad.

Tuchel originally called up a huge 35-man group for this camp – his final chance to assess options before the big decision in May.
But after Friday’s flat showing, the German has wasted no time in reshaping his squad.
A total of eight players have now left the camp, with the group cut down to 27 for Tuesday’s friendly against Japan.
pair and are among those departing after missing the Uruguay game through injury concerns.
Both remain expected to feature at the World Cup, but have returned to their club for further checks.
Gunners team-mate has also gone back to north London after picking up a knock during the match.
Manchester City defender is another big name to exit after suffering an issue in training.
