The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has rejected the claims of his expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to DAILY POST, the party had previously announced that Wike, along with Samuel Anyanwu, former National Secretary of the party, and Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, were expelled from the main opposition party.
Chief Olabode George, the former National Vice Chairman of the party (South), initiated the motion for expulsion during the ongoing convention in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The motion received a second from Hon. Samaila Burga, the Chairman of the PDP in Bauchi.
However, when reached for comment by DAILY POST, Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Publicity and Communications to the FCT Minister, dismissed the notion of expulsion.
Lere stated that the party members who announced the expulsion were “intoxicated” during their “dirty December.”
He remarked, “They went to Ibadan to kick off their dirty December in November.
“When individuals choose to start their own dirty December in November, one cannot take seriously whatever they say.
“They gathered in Ibadan to celebrate, and while intoxicated, they are free to make any statements.”
