Arsenal legend Theo Walcott has confidently said that Real Madrid will end up in eighth place if they play in the Premier League.

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney and Premier League Hall of Famer Alan Shearer have given different predictions.

Talking to Amazon Prime Video’s social media pages, the former football stars were asked to guess where Real Madrid would rank if they played in the Premier League.

Walcott said that Los Blancos will have a tough time when they play away, especially when facing Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and Newcastle United.

He then said that the Spanish team would not get to play in the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League.

The former England international said,
“Good question. I think they could have trouble playing at Crystal Palace, at Leeds away at nights at St James’ Park.

“The weather plays its part as well. [They will finish] Eighth. A lot of Madrid fans are going to be unhappy about that. But I do think there are some teams in the Premier League that are better prepared, and I don’t think Real Madrid would be one of those teams.”

Rooney supported Real Madrid finishing in the top four, but he also agreed with Walcott’s point about having a tough time in away matches.

He said they will face harder games in the league compared to those in La Liga and added: “I think some of the away matches will be much tougher than the ones they play in the Spanish calendar year,” he said.

Shearer also thought they would finish in the top four, but he supported them because they have the players who can score enough goals. His worry was about them giving up too many points, and he said:

“They might have trouble being consistent, but I think if you look at the quality they have, especially up front. I’m sure they would give up a few, but I think the top four are mine. They probably won’t win this one.”

Los Blancos have faced 44 teams from England in their history, winning 17 times and losing 14 times.
