Mr. Theophilus Okoka has officially taken on the role of the new Controller of Corrections for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) in the Akwa Ibom State Command.

According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, ASC Richard Metong, in Uyo on Tuesday, the new controller began his duties on Monday, December 8, following the retirement of the former controller, Frank Okonkwo, from active service.

The statement noted that the outgoing Controller, CC Frank Okonkwo, expressed his gratitude to God, the Federal Government, the leadership of the Service, and the officers and personnel of the Command for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure.

He urged the staff to extend the same level of loyalty and professionalism to his successor to ensure the Command's continued progress.

The statement further indicated that the new Controller, CC Theophilus Okoka, in his acceptance speech, committed to maintaining the achievements of his predecessor while enhancing security, staff welfare, and inmate rehabilitation in line with the core objectives of the Nigerian Correctional Service.

He called for the cooperation of officers, stakeholders, and the general public to facilitate effective custodial management and successful non-custodial operations throughout the State.
