The beloved comedy series The Inbetweeners is set to make a comeback next year, with all four main stars eager to reunite.

The show's creators, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, expressed their excitement, stating: “It’s incredibly thrilling to be planning more adventures for our four favorite friends (oh, friends).”

The duo has reached an agreement with the production powerhouse Banijay UK.

Patrick Holland, the chief executive, expressed his joy at resuming discussions about the show's future with them.

He added: “They possess a contagious creative vision for the brand that will resonate with both longtime fans and new audiences.”

The company announced that this agreement “unlocks the rights and potential to revive The Inbetweeners for new audiences across various platforms including television and stage.”

Joe Thomas, 41, who portrayed Simon, mentioned last year that the four main stars were all interested in rebooting the series.

When asked if talks about a revival had commenced, he replied: “Yes, it has happened in various forms.”

“We all feel it would be wonderful to do.”

He noted that they remain close friends, sharing on a podcast: “We’re all still around.

“We’re all still part of each other’s lives. We all still enjoy each other’s company.

“And if the opportunity arose, I believe we would want to pursue it.”

The coming-of-age series aired three seasons from 2008 to 2010, along with films released in 2011 and 2014.

It featured Joe as Will, James Buckley as Jay, and Blake Harrison as Neil.

Emily Atack, 35, was also a regular, playing Charlotte, a year ahead of the boys in high school, who briefly dated Will.

This new deal could lead to the show's revival as a television series, film, stage production, or possibly all three.
