100 players have to use common sense as they are tasked with solving questions based on logic and reasoning skills.
They are only given a 30 second time limit as they are whittled down as the questions get harder and harder.
In the end, they have the chance to enter the prestigious club by answering a question that only one percent of the public would get right.
The 56-year-old presenter moved onto the 70% question as he asked the remaining players to solve a question.
“John writes with his right hand and the last word he’d right if he was writing this sentence would be be.
“If Keith writes with his left hand, what would be the last word he would write in the sentence above?”;;
Of course the answer was the word ‘be’, as a different writing hand would not change the last word, something which many viewers playing along got correct.
However, a whopping 23 players in the studio answered the riddle incorrectly and they were eliminated from the game.
Viewers took to social media in droves as they couldn’t believe so many players left the game after such an ‘easy’ question.

“How did 23 get this wrong?,”;; asked a second user with a monkey covering his eyes emoji.
While a third exclaimed: “TWENTY THREE out on THAT?!?!”;;
As someone else stated: “How t* have 23 gone out?? Being left handed doesnt mean you write words in the wrong order.”;;
And a fifth fan added: “Too many people thinking too hard on that one #The1PercentClub.”;;
Because of the huge elimination, the jackpot prize rose significantly to huge levels.
The £5,000 pot rose to a whopping £28,000 as nearly a quarter of the total amount of players were eliminated.
