It’ll catch on early and I don’t think it’s a matter of it being the magnitude of the fight.

Both these guys are amazing counter-punchers but they’re fighters who can punch first. That’s why this is so special.
You don’t see that ever. You don’t see a counter-puncher by nature who can lead off and be very quick with that next counter.
So that’s what makes this thing so beautiful. Both these guys are very offensively minded but also defensively minded to create the offense.
What I got from Bud when we fought – which I’ve never, ever experienced before – was mental fatigue.
It was this mental unawareness of what the fight truly was because looking into his eyes, he’s just stone cold.
He’s not making you feel like you’re winning this thing at all – that’s the gift that he has.
I think it’s the gift that Floyd Mayweather – who beat Canelo in 2013 – had.
And I think that in a lot of ways, Canelo’s gonna be facing the demeanour and the energy of a Mayweather.

When we fought the switch was flipped probably around round six or seven if I remember correctly.
He just kind of switched it up, he said, ‘Right, you’re not coming after me, I’m coming after you!’
And round by round he started to kind of just turn it on a little bit more and in the 10th round he found those moments.
The cool part about this fight? Both these guys are counter-punchers.
Both these guys create big moments and it’s it’s gonna be really interesting to see how they take those moments away from one another.
A little bit like Israel Madrimov – but not quite the same. Madrimov took it away by simply moving and moving and moving.
Canelo isn’t gonna do that.
But at the same time, Canelo has the ability to think really hard, he has the ability to jab, he has the ability to change his levels, and I think that that’s how he’s gonna take those moments away.
And then for Bud, he’s gonna use his feet.
Both these guys are also like time managers when it comes to boxing. They manage the clock very well.

I see this one being something where Canelo really tries to find more moments in each round than we usually see.
I think he’s gonna take more shots at different points in each round than we’re used to seeing too.
And you know the question is – can he sustain that?
I think Bud’s gonna take whatever is coming at him and Bud is unlike most guys – he has the ability to do that.
I don’t know what it is about him he’s just special in that way; the right kind of speed, the right kind of power, the right kind of quickness, the right kind of intuitive eyes.
The list goes on from there. So I think it’s gonna be very, very tactical and very back and forth early – not sure what the scores could look like.
But I think round nine, ten, 11 and 12, we’re gonna see Bud really switch and try to turn it on and do something that’s gonna really make it show that he’s winning this fight and that he’s the winner.
Crawford was made to work for the win
I got Bud winning this fight.
He’s a generational talent. I don’t really like talking in “all-time” because I don’t believe that you can compare them.
Fighters aren’t built the same our minds aren’t the same. I can tell you point blank, 2025 fighters were nothing mentally like the guys of the 70s, the 60s, the 40s, if it’s completely different.
But for his generation, for his decade, should he win this one, he’d be considered an absolute great, probably of the greatest of his generation.
For Canelo, I’ve been retiring him for two years – if not three!
But, he’s still going, so I’m not sure what he’s got up his sleeve after this win, lose or draw.
Canelo seems to be the to me the kind of guy that win, lose or draw. He’s gonna keep going.
I don’t know what he’s gonna do.
He’s already established his greatness and I think he’s just trying to etch it to where there’s no question or doubt whether he’s the greatest Mexican fighter of all time.
