POLICE are making an urgent appeal following an incident where a man confronted a teenage girl and threatened her in an alley.
The man approached her around 8:10 AM yesterday in an alley while she was on her way to school.
Authorities are seeking witnesses and information after the girl was approached in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.
The teenage girl, who must remain anonymous for legal reasons, stated that she did not recognize the man who threatened her and she ran away from the situation.
The suspect is described as being in his mid-20s, with blue eyes, stubble, and wearing a leather jacket over a white hooded top.
Detective Chief Inspector Pauline Lane commented: “This was a distressing incident for the victim on her way to school, which we are taking very seriously.
“We are urging anyone who observed anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
“This includes anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell, dashcam, or mobile phone footage.”
“Officers are actively investigating and will be present at the scene as we conduct inquiries, and there will be increased patrols to offer reassurance.”
