A TEACHER accused of sexually abusing two pupils was often reluctant to have sex, her partner of 36 years told her trial yesterday.

Darren Scotchbrook told jurors he was “always quick” in bed to spare discomfort.

The court heard evidence from a consultant gynaecologist that she has a medical condition which makes painful.

Mr Scotchbrook told the jury they have continued to have sex but their relationship was “built on much more than that”.

Asked if he enjoyed the sex, Mr Scotchbrook said: “She made me listen to Leonard Cohen.

“It was more enjoyable than that.”

Mr Scotchbrook also told the court that he was “a bit upset” that Bowen did not want to sleep with him after their first date as he had “spent £200 on dinner”.

is said to have had sexual relationships with two teenage students at the all-boys Christ’s College in Finchley, North London, in the late 1980s.

Bowen, then in her mid-20s, is said to have “engaged in flirtatious conduct” with the pupils and had sex with one alleged victim “20 to 30 times” over five months.

She also kissed the second boy while allowing him to touch her breasts and place his hand near her crotch in a café as they ate lunch together, it is said.

The court also heard evidence from a former pupil who claimed Bowen spoke about oral sex in class and sat provocatively so boys could see up her skirt.
