The Deputy Spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has praised Speaker Abbas Tajudeen for his exemplary leadership, noting that he effectively navigated a series of political and institutional challenges that could have divided the Green Chamber in 2025.

Concerning the tax law dispute, Agbese stated: “The Speaker took prompt action by establishing a seven-member ad hoc committee to investigate the issue and report back to the House. He also instructed the Clerk to re-gazette the tax laws to ensure they align with National Assembly approval. This exemplifies responsive leadership and a commitment to transparency.”
Agbese further mentioned Abbas’s management of members’ welfare, constituency projects, and the state of emergency in Rivers State as additional proof of his steady and principled leadership.
