Former media aide to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has stated that the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, is expected to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) soon.
Ahmad mentioned that following Kefas's move to the APC, a governor from a state in the North-West is anticipated to join the ruling party before the conclusion of 2025.
He made this assertion in response to Enugu Governor Peter Mbah’s recent defection to the APC.
Mbah, who officially became a member of the APC on Tuesday, explained that he departed from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to the lack of recognition for his constituents' voices within the party.
The governor shared this information during a broadcast directed at the people of Enugu.
Mbah exited the PDP alongside his immediate predecessor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as well as several state and federal lawmakers, among others.
In reaction, Ahmad posted on X: “Enugu State is now secure—Taraba State will be the next to join, followed by a state in the North-West before the year concludes.”
