Taiwo Awoniyi ‘placed in induced coma following abdominal injury that could have been fatal to Nottingham Forest star’

NOTTINGHAM FOREST striker Taiwo Awonyi has been placed in a coma after undergoing emergency surgery, it’s been claimed.

The 27-year-old went under the knife after sustaining an abdominal injury in Forest’s clash with Leicester last Saturday.

He suffered the injury after crashing into the post in the 2-2 draw and received treatement before trying to play on.

He was eventually substituted and underwent urgent surgery on Monday after the full extent of his injury was revealed.

According to the Daily Mail, Awoniyi was rushed to the hospital and initial signs had pointed to the surgery being a “success.”;;

But following the surgery on the unknown injury, which is said to be potentially fatal, Awoniyi is asaid to have been placed in an “induced coma”;;.
