KBS2’s new drama “ The First Night With the Duke ”; picks up tonight with even more of Seohyun ’s unpredictable antics!
“The First Night with the Duke”; is a fantasy romance drama about an ordinary college student whose soul is transported into a minor character in a romance novel, Cha Sun Chaek (Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun). After waking up in the world of the novel, she ends up spending the night with the obsessive male lead, Yi Beon (2PM’s Taecyeon ).

In Episode 1, Cha Sun Chaek-now inhabited by the soul of K, a real-life college student and a fan of the original novel-began to unintentionally entangle herself with the main characters, gradually shifting from a forgettable side character to someone impossible to ignore. While trying to help Jo Eun Ae ( Kwon Han Sol ), the novel’s heroine who’s constantly mistreated by the villainess Do Hwa Seon ( Chi Hae Won ), Cha Sun Chaek ended up stealing the spotlight at a social gathering with her over-the-top bomb shot antics. The episode ended with her waking up in bed next to the male lead, Yi Beon-leaving viewers curious about what happened that night.
Originally hoping to simply watch the romance between Yi Beon and Jo Eun Ae unfold like a bystander, her fate as a side character has taken an unexpected-and chaotic-turn.
In newly released stills, Cha Sun Chaek looks even more unpredictable than before. Gone is the elegant noblewoman; instead, she’s seen with wild hair, a dirt-stained hanbok, and a bright, carefree smile. One particularly eye-catching image shows her crouching in a field with a raw sweet potato in her mouth-offering a hilariously jarring contrast to her once-graceful appearance.
Meanwhile, Yi Beon’s stoic, unreadable expression as he takes in Cha Sun Chaek’s shocking transformation only heightens the curiosity. How will he respond to the woman he woke up next to now looking like this? And what exactly led to her unexpected “makeover”;?
