Who is Susie Ma?

, 37, grew up in Queensland and Cairns before moving to London at 13.

In 2011, she was the youngest person to appear on Dragons’ Den and made it to the final, but not long after being fired she secured investment from .

Susie has gone from selling her products on a stall at Greenwich Market at the age of 15, to being CEO of Tropic Skincare , a £77 million .

From the kitchen of the family’s home in Croydon, she experimented with the body scrub her grandma made in Australia.

She explained: “It was a blend of fresh sea salts that would exfoliate your skin, macadamia and jojoba oil, lemon myrtle to ward off mosquitoes, and then I added bergamot and eucalyptus to the first batch.

“I decided to call it Tropic just because the ingredients were from somewhere tropical.”

By the time Lord Sugar invested, she had already bought her mum a house, splashed out on an investment property, had “loads of savings”, and paid her way through university.

She exclusively told The Sun: “Tropic was turning over a lot of money back then and so we were already successful.

“Lord Sugar came in as a strategic move to and get that extra PR, which has been amazing for Tropic, and I don’t regret that for a second.”

But after working with him for 12 years, Susie realised she had “bigger ambitions” and decided to buy Lord Sugar out, seeing her .

On being on Dragons’ Den, Susie told the : “I’ve loved Dragons’ Den for years, to become a Dragon off the back of what I’ve built with Tropic was a real pinch-me moment.
