A POPULAR UK supermarket hand wash has been urgently recalled over a microbiological risk.

Customers who have bought the item have been urged to “stop using immediately” and return the item.

Certain batches of the Baylis & Harding Oud, Cedar & Amber 1L Hand Wash Refill have been as the products present a “microbiological risk”.

The batches included in the recall are numbered 6210A and 6211A and have been recalled by Baylis and Harding, Amazon, , and .

The batch number is printed on the base of the pouch.

According to the recall notice, the “product presents a microbiological risk as testing identified the presence of Pluralibacter gergoviae”.

The notice states that “contamination with this microorganism may lead to infection or adverse health effects, particularly in vulnerable users or those with a compromised skin barrier”.

As a result the product does not meet the requirements of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 (the “Cosmetics Regulation”).

The products have been recalled from end users and those who have bought the item have been urged to stop using it immediately.
