STRICTLY Come Dancing fans were thrilled tonight with the return of a “missing” aspect of the show.

During tonight’s Halloween special results show, viewers were shocked when Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola found themselves in the dance-off alongside Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.

Before the performances began, viewers were excited about the return of a segment featuring interviews with the other two couples who were at risk of elimination.

Throughout this series, a slight change to the format saw the cast narrowed down to a bottom four, revealing both couples facing elimination simultaneously.

This differs from previous years, where results were announced in two parts, with a dance-off contestant declared at the end of each segment.

As part of this format change, safe contestants were previously sent to talk with Claudia about their week and what lies ahead, while the final four were not given that opportunity.

However, it appears that fan feedback has been acknowledged by the production team, as now every contestant deemed safe is offered a chance to chat.

This week, after narrowly avoiding the dance-off, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Karen Hauer spoke before the results were revealed.

Amber’s conversation was especially emotional, with her becoming tearful as she expressed her worry about letting Nikita down – something he assured her she could “never do.”

The team then lifted the spirits by announcing they would be performing the samba next week, with Nikita jumping on a table and wiggling his hips while the rest of the cast cheered him on.

The return of this segment was enough to please fans, who shared their thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) regarding its reintroduction.

“They’re talking to Harry and Amber?! Have they actually listened to people’s feedback that not talking to them is cruel? #Strictly,” wrote one user.

“THANK YOU @bbcstrictly for finally listening to us and talking to all the couples who make it through!!” said another.

“At least they’re talking to the other dancers this week; it’s been unfair that they missed out on the sofa chat in previous weeks,” added a third.

A fourth chimed in: “Finally – the last two celebrities who are in the bottom four and who made it through are finally given the chance to speak with Claudia about next week.”

Sadly, this joyful moment was also marked by sadness, as the judges unanimously decided on the elimination.

During their exit, Vito emotionally shared: “Honestly, there are no words to express how proud I am of you [Ellie] and how much you have changed my life. You have made me a better person.

“At the beginning of this year, I asked for a beautiful angel to come into my life, and now you are here.

“I’ve never had a little sister, but I always wanted one. Now, I have you, and you will always be my little sister, with your big brother always by your side.”
