The leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has charged Nigerian politicians to desist from using Artificial Intelligence, AI, to misinterpret or misuse his prophecies.
Primate Ayodele issued the warning after a video circulated on social media by Lauretta Onochie, a former aide to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The video showed a religious leader saying President Bola Tinubu is “gone” and that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would be in a stronger position than other candidates.
However, Primate Ayodele warned Onochie and others involved in the manipulation to stop forthwith or face both legal problems and punishment from God.
In a statement signed by his media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele said some politicians are so eager for power that their desperation is worrying.
He pointed out that using prophecies to help their political goals is wrong and goes against what is right, as well as against God, His servant, and the law.
He said that in his book, “Warnings To The Nations,” he did not say whether President Tinubu would win or lose the 2027 presidential election.
He said the AI video that Onochie shared made it look like he had made that statement.
Primate Ayodele said: “I’m shocked to see how Nigerian politicians have become so bold that they use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to change and twist my prophecies in order to support their own stories.
“I have received a lot of calls and texts asking if I said during the presentation of my annual prophecy book, Warnings To The Nations, for the 2026/2027 edition, on Saturday, that President Tinubu is no longer in power and will not come back to lead in 2027.
“It has now come to my attention that a former aide to the former President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, and her group are responsible for creating the AI-generated video that shows me making that statement.
“To make things clear, I never said anyone was the winner or the loser when I presented my prophecy book. In fact, I clearly told the journalists there that I hadn’t gotten permission from God to share that information with the public. Lauretta Onochie’s actions are not only morally wrong but also break the law and go against what is right in God’s eyes.
“I have the original recordings of everything I said, and they can be found on my official social media accounts. I’m wondering what she hoped to accomplish with that shameful action. I ask her to take down the videos from all her platforms right away and to apologise for sharing false information about me to prevent any legal problems.
“All my prophecies are posted on my official social media accounts and are always checked and confirmed by my media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin. Anything that goes against this should be considered untrue.”
