CRACK Special Forces commandos put on a daring show by riding a speedboat slung under a helicopter in the English Channel — and flying the Union Jack.

Dramatic footage of the Special Boat Service training was captured near Poole, , days after the government warned it would seize Russian shadow fleet tankers.

The elite SBS commandos have led previous hostile boardings.

They include the Nave Andromeda in 2020 when stowaway migrants hijackd the vessel off the coast of the .

Recent training showed commandos attaching a rigid hulled inflatable speed boat to ropes beneath a CH-47 Chinook.

The commandos used to push speed boats out of low and slow flying Hercules transport planes until the fleet was scrapped under the previous government.

Now they rely on Chinooks and submarines for covert infiltration and extraction missions.

The MoD does not comment on special forces.

A defence source said the drills were almost certainly SBS.

The , based at Hereford, also maintain a specialist Boat Troop in most of its combat squadrons.
