THREE skiers have been killed in an avalanche at the plush Val-d’Isere ski resort in France.
Six skiers were swept away in a violent snowslide in an off-piste area of the Savoyard resort.

Among the dead are one French and two foreign skiers, the resort’s tourist office confirmed in a statement.
Offering its “sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims”, the Val-d’Isère tourist office “recommends that skiers stay in the safe and marked areas of the ski area.
