WORKMEN yesterday restored a statue of Sir Winston Churchill which had been defaced with graffiti.
The team used blowtorches and paint brushes to clean up the 12ft bronze of the former PM.

On Monday morning, the 38-year-old appeared at Westminster Magistratesā Court wearing a grey T-shirt and joggers.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark crown court on March 30.
