But viewers were left horrified after noticing two very “triggering” details in Sophie’s video

However, having said that, viewers have been left feeling sick after noticing two very “triggering” details in content creator Sophie’s video.

Although both of which have nothing to do with Sophie’s dish, people admitted to skipping past the clip after their “gross” spots.

Posting on social media , Sophie demonstrated a step-by-step tutorial of how she makes a tasty bowl of pasta.

Alongside her recent clip, the curly-haired brunette wrote: “Cheap tea to save money with a single mum living on a budget.”

The UK -based mother, who is feeling the pinch of the cost of living crisis, started off by preparing her ingredients, which involved cutting mushrooms and ham.

Following this, the 33-year-old, who regularly shares breakfast and dinner ideas for those looking to cut costs , added salt to her spaghetti and let it boil.

To make her sauce, Sophie, who has amassed 64,700 followers on TikTok , added a generous amount of butter to her mushrooms and ham, followed by some crème fraîche she got from Aldi

Once the pasta was ready, the bargain hunter mother gave it a good stir, ready to be served.

Sophie’s clip, which was posted under the username @ thesophshow , has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 107,900 views in just 24 hours.

Not only this, but it’s also amassed 1,569 likes and 166 comments.

But social media users were left totally divided by Sophie’s video – whilst some thought the dish looked “great,” others commented sick emojis after noticing her cat on the kitchen worktop .

As well as this, others were horrified by the huge pile of dirty dishes taking over the sink.

How to save money on your food shop

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save hundreds of pounds a year:

Odd boxes – plenty of retailers offer slightly misshapen fruit and veg or surplus food at a discounted price.

Lidl sells five kilos of fruit and veg for just £1.50 through its Waste Not scheme while Aldi shoppers can get Too Good to Go bags which contain £10 worth of all kinds of products for £3.30.

Sainsbury’s also sells £2 “Taste Me, Don’t Waste Me” fruit and veg boxes to help shoppers reduced food waste and save cash.

Food waste apps – food waste apps work by helping shops, cafes, restaurants and other businesses shift stock that is due to go out of date and passing it on to members of the public.

Some of the most notable ones include Too Good to Go and Olio.

Too Good to Go’s app is free to sign up to and is used by millions of people across the UK, letting users buy food at a discount.

Olio works similarly, except users can collect both food and other household items for free from neighbours and businesses.

Yellow sticker bargains – yellow sticker bargains, sometimes orange and red in certain supermarkets, are a great way of getting food on the cheap.

But what time to head out to get the best deals varies depending on the retailer. You can see the best times for each supermarket here .

Super cheap bargains – sign up to bargain hunter Facebook groups like Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK where shoppers regularly post hauls they’ve found on the cheap, including food finds.

“Downshift” – you will almost always save money going for a supermarket’s own-brand economy lines rather than premium brands.

The move to lower-tier ranges, also known as “downshifting” and hailed by consumer expert Martin Lewis , could save you hundreds of pounds a year on your food shop.

However, at the same time, one person said: “Sorry, couldn’t get past the cat on the worktop next to food!”

Another added: “OMG… Cat on counter!!!!”

Cleaning the pots wouldn’t go a miss, very triggering

A third commented: “Get the cat off the worktop.”

Meanwhile, someone else gasped: You drained the spaghetti in a sink full of dirty bowls.”

Another slammed: “Yuck to piles of untouched dishes.”

Not only this, but one user observed: “ Cleaning the pots wouldn’t go a miss, very triggering.”
