SIMON Cowell appears to be returning to his talent show roots with a brand new The X Factor style show.
The music mogu l will be part of the judging panel for a newly-proposed talent show to find the next big band to crack the music industry.



The show is currently titled Who’s In The Band and will be filming its pilot episode later this month.
Simon is teaming up with former judge and star for the programme as well as Jonas Brothers star .
Former TV presenter turned producer has been developing the idea with Simon and the show’s proposed fourth judge, songwriter, Savan Kotecha.
Savan is best known for being the brains behind a number of hits as well as writing the soundtrack to the recent success story, Demon Hunters.
The pilot will be produced by Mark Sidway who was the executive producer on ‘s The X Factor.
It will give fans of the former ITV singing contest some positive news with the format appearing to be the closest to the contest which ended with a celebrity series in 2018.
Prior to that, The X Factor ran on ITV from 2004 to 2018 and changed the face of the music industry.
It found a raft of stars including , One Direction, , Alexandra Burke and and helped to elevate the profiles of its judges, namely , , and .
According to advertisements, the contest will see teens from both the UK and US audition to see if they have what it takes to become the next big band.
It means Simon is looking for yet another pop band to add to his repertoire as he is also currently working on upcoming Netflix show – The Next Chapter.
As well as his work on The X Factor UK, he previously judged on as well as the US version of X Factor.
The X Factor came to an end in the US after just three years in 2013 and saw judges including and as well as and US teen star Mario Lopez on hosting duties.
He has also been a mainstay on ITV’s and its American counterpart.
As part of the new programme, Simon will be continuing his on-screen partnership with Spice Girl Mel who has sat alongside the star on both X Factor and AGT.
