Former champ when he said in the South African camp that Sian had “ugly duckling syndrome”.

In her first interview since, Sian told The Sun on Sunday: “I consider it a compliment.

“A big one. I’m fluent in David by now and my family find it hilarious.

“When tells me I — meaning a girl so full of life and character that her looks become irrelevant — he is giving me something the entire modelling industry never once did.

“I don’t class it as inflammatory.

“That’s everybody else scratching their heads looking for something to be offended.

“David is the embodiment of masculinity and women aren’t used to that anymore.

“I’m not surprised the women on kicked off.

“But I feel completely safe next to David because he is exactly who he says he is at all times.

“Who wants a man too scared of his own shadow to speak his mind?”

Ex-Corrie actress , star and Pussycat Dolls singer were left gobsmacked by David’s outburst, shown on Wednesday night.

He said: “Most ugly girls realise they’re not pretty enough — they’ve got to have a personality to banter and tell jokes to overlook that they’re not aesthetically amazing straight away.

“It’s called ‘ugly duckling syndrome’.

“They get prettier as they get older but they’ve still got the personality of when they were younger.”

Sian, an elegant 5ft 11in, said: “People think it’s strange that I laughed when David said that.

“But you have to understand where I’ve come from.

“I was the tall, skinny, glasses kid.

“I got called lanky, skyscraper, tree.

“The made comments.

“At my school photo they put me dead centre and everybody descended in height either side like a human triangle because they thought it was funny.

“I was bullied relentlessly for the way I looked until I was 17.

“I went on to model in , Milan, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul, . Magazine covers. Runway. Saks Fifth Avenue. Season 16.

“And not a single booking in my entire career was ever made because of how I spoke or who I was.

“You walked into a casting, handed over your portfolio, stood there, and left.

“Your personality was entirely irrelevant.

“You were a coat hanger with a face — and even then they told me I was too tall and too fat.

“David says exactly what he means and doesn’t dress things up.

“So when he says something, you know he means it.

“My family use ‘ugly bird’ as a daily term of endearment now.

“My mum was absolutely delighted.”

throughout the all-stars series, first crossing 69-year-old Bev when he sent her to the derelict Savannah Scrubs camp.

He also was accused of making a sly dig at Gemma Collins’ weight.

Sian said: “Before anyone tells me how I should feel about David’s comments, the entire point of was that women should not be told what to do, or have their choices made for them.

“So it’s a bit hypocritical to turn around and tell me I should be offended by something I found funny.

“You’re doing exactly what you claimed to be fighting against, just with better branding.

“We are living through an epidemic of the neutered male and it is genuinely making me sick.

“Men who have been so thoroughly worn down by social media, by the fear of cancellation, by years of being told that masculinity itself is the problem, that they have lost themselves entirely.

“They self-edit so constantly and so completely that they don’t even know who they are anymore.

“Performing sensitivity like it’s a job interview, terrified of their own opinions.

“David’s close circle are high achievers — athletes, owners, men who built something and take life by the scruff of the neck.

“Real, powerful, unfiltered alpha males are a dwindling species and it is a genuine loss.”

David and Sian have been since 2020 but have been candid about opening their relationship to include a third person.

One star named was The Saturdays’ singer , 44, but she denied forming a “throuple”.

Sian stayed in guest accommodation in Kruger National Park while David filmed last September.

Viewers have noted David’s voracious appetite, with his “hanger” sparking clashes over split rations.

Sian said of their first encounter after he finished filming: “Whether he chose time with me over a feed first — a lady never tells.

“But he made the right call.

“He always does.”

She added: “I think David is David — a category that does not fit neatly into anyone’s framework.

“And that is precisely why it makes people uncomfortable.

“Does he hoover?

“No — we have a robot for that.

“Do we fold washing?

“No — we hang everything so there are no creases in the T-shirts.

“Could I trust him to do the weekly shop? Absolutely not!”

HE’S SEXIST RELIC

By Julie Bindel

SOMETIMES a sexist is easy to spot.

Take the boxer David Haye who, while on I’m a Celebrity South Africa, described his girlfriend Sian Osborne as having “the personality of a proper ugly bird”.

His deeply offensive remarks, which also included saying “pretty girls’ ugly friends have got to work a bit harder”, go to show that he’s not only misogynistic, but stupid as well.

The deeply old-fashioned myth that women who are not conventionally attractive develop better personalities to compensate does nothing to explain why men lacking in looks do not do the same.

Haye genuinely disrespects women and I just hope no women will ever be fooled into thinking him a catch.

Men: don’t be like Haye. Never underestimate a woman.
