Sheffield Wednesday Coach Walks Away from Crisis Club, Prioritizes Family Over Contract

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY's first team coach, Andy Parslow, has departed from the troubled club.
The team has faced numerous off-field challenges throughout 2025.
Andy Parslow, who previously served at Swansea, has left Sheffield Wednesday.
Controversial owner Dejphon Chansiri faced further criticism in September, marking the fifth time this has occurred in the past seven months.
Parslow joined the Owls in September 2024, initially serving as a set-piece specialist under former manager Danny Rohl.
The former coach continued under Rohl’s successor, Henrik Pedersen, but has now left Hillsborough.
In his announcement, Parslow stated: “Yesterday, I made the challenging decision to end my contract with Sheffield Wednesday FC and will now be looking for immediate employment.
“In these difficult circumstances, I have strived to do my utmost for the club, but my family will always be my priority, and I made this decision with their best interests in mind.
“We have been fortunate to call Sheffield our home for the past year. My son was born here, and my daughter knows every word to 'Hi Ho,' which has become an anthem in our home.
“I want to extend my gratitude to Danny Rohl for bringing me to the club in September last year and for his guidance and support throughout that season.
“I also wish to thank Henrik Pedersen for his unwavering support and strength since taking over.
Henrik Pedersen has faced numerous challenges.
“I also want to express my appreciation to all the players for their remarkable efforts during my time at the club and for their professionalism throughout.
“To all the staff at the club, a fantastic group of individuals whom I wish nothing but the best for in the future. A special mention goes to Ben King, with whom I worked closely in our department.
“Lastly, to the fans. An incredible group that has cheered us on at home and provided the best away support I have ever witnessed – thank you for your unwavering support and love for this fantastic club.
“I leave with a heavy heart and will always follow Wednesday’s results in the future.”
Wednesday supporters have conducted several protests against Chansiri’s ownership.
Pedersen’s depleted squad has recorded one win, three draws, and five losses in their first nine Championship matches this season.
They currently sit 23rd in the league table, just above their city rivals.
Despite the club’s off-field issues, Pedersen has managed to expand his coaching staff in recent weeks.
Pete Shuttleworth and Darryl Flahavan, who both worked under him at their previous club, have joined the team.
Additionally, former academy coach Craig Mudd has also become part of the setup.
