SHEFFIELD UNITED’S owners have hit back angrily at former chief Prince Abdullah after claims the club faces an EFL 12-point penalty.
Sources close to current bosses Helmy Eltoukhy and Steven Rosen slammed the ex-owner’s latest move as a clear “publicity stunt.”

The fiery response follows claims from Abdullah’s camp that a winding-up petition against the club’s former holding company could trigger docked points.
United World, Abdullah’s investment firm, claims it is still owed £35million from the club’s 2024 takeover deal.
A winding-up petition is a legal court action creditors use to force a company into liquidation to recover unpaid debts.
They claim if the former parent firm is wound up this week, the Blades face the real prospect of a sanction.
finance experts warn a winding-up order could trigger the ‘s “two insolvency strikes and you’re out” rule.
Under EFL regulations, an insolvency event at group level carries an automatic 12-point penalty.
It could also disqualify co-owners Rosen or Eltoukhy under the league’s strict owners’ and directors’ test.
In a full statement, a source close to the owners said: “We are disappointed Prince Abdullah is trying to hurt the club and its supporters with publicity stunts.
“The deal between sophisticated parties in 2024 was well advised by his financial advisors.
“Sheffield United is financially healthy, unlike under Prince Abdullah when the club incurred a points deduction for missing payments to football creditors.
“Nonetheless, Helmy Eltoukhy and Steven Rosen invited Abdullah to re-invest in the Club and join the ownership of and to help use his skills to support our promotion efforts.
“Helmy and Steve are focused on the sustainability of the club and the season ahead.”
