In a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories , she opened up about her experiences as a mother of two, responding to a fan's question about holiday gifts.
In her reply, she emphasized that newborn Sofia and 15-month-old Lucia “don't need anything,” and she is “really trying to make it a habit of not going overboard at Christmas.”
She shared that losing her father “10 days before Christmas” was a significant “eye-opener that clearly changed my entire perspective.”
Shaughna’s father, Edward, passed away in 2016 after battling cancer.
The 31-year-old expressed that she is more focused on creating “memories and experiences” for her children in the lead-up to Christmas, rather than accumulating “loads of stuff around a tree that they will lose interest in after a week.”
“That’s not to say they won’t receive gifts, of course, but I believe that a few presents each is more than sufficient,” she added.
Shaughna also revealed that she’s concentrating on “doing lots of fun activities with them as Christmas approaches,” including a “special” trip to see Disney on Ice.
“There’s too much pressure on parents trying to keep up with everyone else,” she concluded.
“I assure you that the magic doesn't stem from the number of gifts they receive.”
In another part of the Q&A, Shaughna mentioned her favorite nursing bras – the £18 two-pack of Lounge Nursing Maternity Bras from Marks and Spencer.
“These are my favorites!” she said.
“They’re from Marks and Spencer and are much easier to use than the ones with clips, in my opinion.
“And they have no padding, which is so convenient when washing.”
As a bonus, the two-pack in green and black is on sale, and Shaughna urged people to “act fast.”
