said he could be ‘s most prolific serial killer, .

They allege he used his job as a plumber to gain the trust of his victims, all single women.

He would return to their under flimsy pretexts, then tie up elderly women and threaten to kill them if they did not reveal where they kept their valuables, police said.

Allegedly, after robbing his vulnerable customers Michał killed them anyway, suffocating them with pillows or rubbish bags.

Cops said the plumber was careful to cover his tracks at first, but later became increasingly careless.

They alleged he stopped removing the cable ties he had used to restrain the women from the scene.

He was caught in February last year, after a woman accidentally recorded her own murder, police said.

The woman had rung her bank to change her card’s pin number, but an employee stayed on the line as she was attacked, cops said.

The bank worker said they heard Michał strangling the customer through the phone and called the cops.

Police said the entire murder was recorded and raced to the scene to arrest the plumber, who tried to flee after realising the phone was on.

He was arrested at the scene, on the balcony below the pensioner’s flat.

Prosecutors say they have evidence linking six murders to Michał, as well as a robbery that caused the death of a seventh.

Police are still investigating the deaths of several other elderly people who were previously ruled to have died of natural causes.

They seized 75,000 photos from his phone, including of items in the elderly women’s homes – some could not be linked to the known list of victims, raising fears that his alleged number of kills could rise.

Michał was charged with the six alleged murders and seventh robbery causing death in February, but has yet to be indicted as cops probe the other suspicious deaths.

Police said he was addicted to and and was under the influence of drugs when he was arrested.

He has remained in custody since his arrest.

Prosecutors said he acted alone in many of the alleged murders, but had two Ukrainian accomplices for some of his vile attacks.

They said he worked with Taras H, 33, on three of the killings.

Taras is charged with complicity in murder in the case of a murdered neurologist and removing loot from the home of another.

In a third case Michael and Taras allegedly jointly attacked a woman so they could rob her, causing the woman to die of a heart attack.

Taras has pleaded guilty to charges but claims he did not mean to kill the woman.

In December 2024, he allegedly murdered two sisters with the help of Ihor H, who denies all charges.

Ihor is also accused of involvement in the death of a single woman killed in January 2025.

A third alleged accomplice, Jarosław O, a Polish national, is accused of selling stolen items at Michał’s request.
