According to CelebrityNetWorth , the Trainspotting star is worth $25million (£18.7m).
He also splashed out £2.35million on a plush mansion in his hometown of Perthshire in 2023 after it had been on the market for offers over £2.15million.
But it looks like the Perthshire-born actor still likes to get stuck in around the home as he tried to help with the laundry.
His attempt, however, ended in dramatic fashion with the white load coming out pink.
His eldest daughter Clara, 29, took to Instagram to share the hilarious gaffe, as she wrote: “Some lessons come in pastel..We shall rebuild!”
In the short video, McGregor looks visibly confused as he holds up the ruined laundry – and can also be seen wearing a pair of the pink socks.
Clara said her famous dad “actually has no idea” how it happened but guessed there “must have been some red in there somewhere”.
Her clip quickly went viral with 1million views as fans were left in stitches over his mistake.
One said: “The look on his face is priceless…..I’m sorry.”
A second wrote: “Impressed by how evenly dyed it all is! Must have been a VERY red item haha.”
A third added: “I think men look great in pink but it’s not the Jedi way I suppose.”
“Ok who had the red Sith clothing??!” joked a fourth.
A fifth chimed in: “That’s messed up. I’ve been there before. I blame it on the baby sock but it was me.”
Meanwhile,a sixth said: “My sympathies to [his wife] Mary who probably has lost so many white clothing pieces because of him.”
Ewan has five children: Clara, Esther, 24, Jamyan, also 24, and Anouk, 14, with his first wife Eve, and Laurie, four, with his current spouse Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
The star moved to London when he was 17, and then to LA in 2008 – even becoming a US citizen in 2016.
He has homes in LA and London and moved between the two, but recently snapped up his £2m eco-home in Scotland.
