The former President of the Nigerian Senate and Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, has shared insights from his discussion with Captain Edward Boyo, the Chief Executive Officer of Overland Airways.

In a statement posted on X on Monday, Saraki expressed his concerns to the airline executive regarding the escalating airfares on the Lagos–Ilorin and Abuja–Ilorin routes, which have become unaffordable for a significant number of Nigerians.

He stated that the airline's CEO assured him that a review of the airfare pricing for these routes would take place in the upcoming weeks.

“I just finished a call with Captain Boyo, the CEO of Overland Airways, to address the issue of rising fares on the Lagos–Ilorin and Abuja–Ilorin routes, which are increasingly unaffordable for our citizens in this challenging economic climate.
“I reminded him of our longstanding relationship, his connection with Kwara State, and how we collaborated to establish and enhance these routes during my tenure as governor.
“I am pleased that he took my concerns seriously and has committed to reviewing the pricing in the coming week. I remain optimistic about a favorable outcome,” he stated.
