A PROBE has been launched into the sale of the San Siro – leading to phones being seized and nine people coming under investigation.
Serie A giants AC Milan and Inter Milan snapped up the beloved stadium in a last year, leading to them having the green light to tear it down.

And plans have been made to build a stunning new home on the same land.
But Corriere dello Sport report the sale of the San Siro is now being investigated following allegations of bid-rigging and the disclosure of official secrets.
Searches are underway at Milan City Hall, along with the headquarters of AC Milan and .
The homes of former councillors Giancarlo Tancredi and Ada De Cesaris, along with Palazzo Marino general manager Christian Malangone, will be looked at.
Mark van Huuksloot – who held several leading roles at Inter – former Nerazzurri corporate chief executive Alessandro Antonello and Sport Life City president Giuseppe Bonomi are also being investigated.
Simona Collarini, who was director of the stadium proceedings, and Fabrizio Grena and Marta Spaini – consultants for Inter and respectively – have been embroiled in the controversy as well.
Mobile phones have been seized as part of the investigation after worrying findings were spotted within emails surrounding the management of urban planning in Milan.
Legal proceedings were opened after a series of complaints were filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
One was signed by former deputy mayor Luigi Corbani and music promoter Claudio Trotta, who is a founder of the Si Meazza committee.
Allegations have been made that the was flogged to AC Milan and Inter as it would benefit private interests and select construction companies.

The major twist has come with Inter sitting six points clear at the top of Serie A.
AC Milan, who had England defender earlier than expected, are their arch-rivals’ closest challengers for the crown with eight games to play.
The Rossoneri moved into the San Siro 100 years ago, while Inter joined them as co-tenants in 1947.
