Reality TV star Sam Thompson has opened up about the painful end of his relationship with Zara McDermott and how their breakup led him to seek therapy.
Fans were taken by surprise when Sam and Zara abruptly ended their five-year relationship in January of this year.

Sam has now admitted that he faced difficulties in the aftermath of the breakup.
He acknowledged that he neglected himself during the painful period, suggesting that he struggled more than people realized.
In an interview with the Daily Mail , Sam stated: “I can’t talk about Zara out of respect, and I appreciate that we’ve both maintained that boundary.
“However, I don’t know anyone who enjoys going through a breakup. I needed therapy to help me navigate this significant change in my life.
“I worked hard last year, but I neglected friends, family, and even myself to some extent.”
Sam continued: “One of the main lessons I learned was to take time for myself; otherwise, the risk is that I could become unwell.
“We like to think we’re invincible, but eventually, we burn out.”
Sam was previously linked to Zara after they were seen kissing in public, shortly after it was revealed that she had been secretly dating Louis.
However, he has now expressed that he won't date anyone unless he sees a future with them.
He added: “I would love to have children, and I refuse to date unless I can envision a long-term future.”
Currently, Sam is dating DJ and model Talitha Balinska, whom he first met during a photoshoot in 2023.
The two reconnected earlier this year when he invited her to be his special guest at his Staying Relevant live show with Pete Wicks at the O2 Arena.
Just a few days ago, Sam showcased her online.
At the start of December, Sam announced their relationship.
While chatting with his best friend on their Staying Relevant podcast, Sam confirmed that they had taken their romance to the next level.
