Putin Unveils 'Skyfall': Russia Tests Nuclear-Powered Missile with Unlimited Range

Vladimir Putin has successfully test-launched a formidable nuclear “Skyfall” missile and has begun preparations for its deployment.

The Russian president described the intimidating 9M730 Burevestnik missile as a “weapon of unlimited range powered by a nuclear engine.”

According to top Russian army general Valery Gerasimov, it traveled for 14,000 kilometers and was airborne for approximately 15 hours.

Putin also claimed that his new weapon was “invincible” against both current and future missile defense systems.

Referred to as SSC-X-9 Skyfall by NATO, the Burevestnik missile measures about 12 meters in length and is equipped with a thermonuclear warhead.

It was first revealed in 2018 and is one of six “super weapons” that Putin has promoted.

Other projects include the Satan 2 – or Sarmat – nuclear missile, the Zircon, Avangard, and Kinzhal hypersonic weapons, as well as the Poseidon submarine nuclear drone.

Putin stated that the Burevestnik is now in its final development phase before being deployed to the frontlines.

The Russian leader made this significant announcement during a visit to a command post of the Russian army on Sunday.
