Meet Ruby Wax's Daughters: Marina and Madeleine Carving Their Own Paths in the Spotlight!

RUBY Wax was one of the biggest signings for I’m A Celeb 2025, but being in the spotlight is nothing new to the multitalented megastar.

And Ruby’s not the only comedian and actress in her family, as she has who have followed in her famous footsteps.

Who is Ruby Wax?

was born in Evanston, Illinois on April 19, 1953.

She is a comedian, actress, author and host, who has enjoyed a successful showbiz career for more than 40 years.

After rising to fame in the mid-’80s on British sitcom Girls on Top, Ruby hosted her own hilarious chat show Don’t Miss Wax towards the end of the decade.

In the ’90s she fronted Meets…, interviewing superstars such as Madonna, Pamela Anderson and Imelda Marcos.

She also made guest appearances and script edited the hugely popular comedy Absolutely Fabulous starring Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.

In October 2025, the 72-year-old was on the 25th season of .

On , Ruby said: “I was offered the chance to take part a long time ago and I thought, ‘No, I could never do that,’ but now it’s the right time. I like doing adventurous things.

“It will be nice for people to get to know the real me because you can’t hide in the jungle.

“In my personas before, I looked quite aggressive and pushy, and I think it was just my nerves.

“I am not aggressive – it’s the way I talk. I’m not confrontational, and it looked like I was.”

Ruby is also a talented author and released her best-selling memoir How Do You Want Me? in 2002.

She regularly raises awareness for mental illnesses by speaking out about her own experiences and struggles.

Ruby is married to film and TV producer – the couple died the knot back in 1988.

Ed directed a number of iconic British TV shows, including Absolutely Fabulous, French & Saunders and Red Dwarf.

Before Ed, Ruby was married to Andrew Porter between 1976 and 1980, and Trevor Walton from 1981 to 1986.

Who are Ruby Wax’s children?

Their son, Max, was born in 1988.

Two daughters followed – Madeleine in 1990, before Marina in 1993.

Max prefers to avoid the public spotlight, so little is known about Ruby’s firstborn.

In September 2020, Ruby told the Mirror her son works as a “coder”.

Ruby’s two daughters have embarked on careers the world of showbiz.

They have inherited their mum’s sense of humour and host their own comedy podcast.

Marina has ventured into the world of acting, playing Pandora Henry in Prime Video’s The Girlfriend.

Her other acting roles include Hulu series We Were The Lucky Ones, and Wonka.

Sister Maddy has also appeared in movies including A Caribbean Dream, How to Talk to Girls at Parties and Breathe.

The two sisters are very close and regularly work together as a double act.

Speaking about her kids in 2017, Ruby told The Guardian: “Maddy is a comedian and Marina is an actress.

“Maddy and Marina have just started a comedy show called Siblings.

“If they weren’t funny I wouldn’t encourage them but they are.

“When they are all round for dinner they make [brother] Max laugh so much he cries.”

Maddy and Marina took their Siblings comedy double act to the Edinburgh fringe back in 2017 and have performed one-off gigs since.

On her double act with sister Maddy, Marina told The Guardian in 2020: “When you’ve lived with someone all your life and come out of the same womb, you speak the same language.

You understand each other’s rhythms, each other’s humour.

When Maddy and I do comedy together, it’s like we could finish each other sentences. We never collide, we never interrupt.”
