SINCE leaving Hollyoaks Roxanne McKee has been a dragon thief, a princess and taken on a vengeful Bambi.

Now the actress is aiming for a role in Mission:Impossible , while not ruling out a return to the Cheshire soap opera.

But Roxanne, 46, tells The Sun that “I would need to get in shape. I need some training” to keep up with after giving birth to twins a year ago.

The new mum was a huge hit when she played feisty Louise Summers on between 2005 and 2008.

Roxanne was named the sexiest female soap star two years in a row and regularly graced the pages of glossy magazines.

Since quitting the show she has starred in fantasy TV shows and Dominion and appeared in several movies.

In her latest film Bad Day at The Office she dons a pink sexy maid outfit when she dances with Sliding Doors actor John Hannah .

Her toughest but most inspiring role has been becoming a mum to a boy and a girl while maintaining her acting career.

Roxanne says: “I am very glad I was really into fitness beforehand. It is exhausting. I thought I was tired before, but it was nothing.

“I am breastfeeding through the night, then I have to wake up and look after my babies because my partner has to go to work, I breastfeed all day.

“I have never known such tiredness. But your hormones kick in. You see their little smile, that just gets you through every day. It’s hard, it’s chaotic, it’s wonderful.”

Getting emotional, she continues: “I feel it is a dream come true and I didn’t even know how much of a dream it was.

“I cannot express to you, I couldn’t have imagined how much love I could give them, this overwhelming feeling of love that washes over you.

“The feeling I would do absolutely anything for them. Now I can feel myself welling up just saying that.”

It was tough having to say goodbye to her tots ahead of the interview with The Sun.

She adds: “This morning before I left they were holding their arms out and saying ‘mama, mama’ and my heart was breaking.”

That makes it difficult to keep up her acting career, but it is something the actress is figuring out how to achieve.

Roxanne says: “I am not sure how I am going to juggle acting with being a mother to twins. I have done a few days work on a film called Rebooted, which is kind of like you were trapped in a video game and not knowing whether you are AI.

“I was able to go to sets late, the director had a baby the same age as my babies and they were really good about that. Hopefully it will fall into place.

“At the moment they need me so I will focus on them. That will start to change, as they get older they need you less.

“I am sure there will come a time when I am kicking out of the door, but at the moment I am still in the bubble.”

Roxanne is also getting married to her secret fiancé, who she hasn’t named because he isn’t in showbusiness.

When she announced their engagement on social media she said he’d “finally proposed.”

But this was a little joke because the pair had known each other since childhood without cementing their romance until many years later.

Roxanne explains: “I had a crush on him since we were at school and our paths took different directions and then we had a few interactions over the years, very very minute and then our paths crossed and it was very careful and we just had a coffee together and it was like a friendship and then we fell in love.

“It was really lovely and it was like a fairytale and now we have children and back in the real world again.

“Now we have had a year of complete tiredness.”

The wedding will be a private one with friends and family.

Roxanne says: “He would rather remain out of the limelight and I have to respect that.

“It will be a private wedding. I don’t want to broadcast it.”

Her previous wedding experience was a TV one, with her time on Hollyoaks coming to an end in dramatic fashion on the day Louise was supposed to get hitched to Warren Fox, played by Jamie Lomas.

Instead of saying “I do”, Louise tries to shoot Warren dead before he seemingly kills her.

For the past 18 years it has been assumed that her character is dead.

But Roxanne reveals there is a way she could return to Hollyoaks, which is set in Chester.

She says: “Let me let you into a little secret. We have a secret scene which was filmed.

“Brian, the producer at the time, said would you mind filming a scene so that if you ever want to come back we have a scene that shows how you escaped. I know how I escaped, but you don’t.

“So yes if I ever wanted to go back and if they ever wanted me back there is an opening for me.

“I loved working with Jamie Lomas so much, we had a riot together, never say never.

“It would be fun to do a turn with Jamie.”

Roxanne has made a name for herself appearing in far more blood-soaked dramas since leaving Hollyoaks.

As sex slave Doreah in Games of Thrones she plotted to steal Daenerys’ dragons and in last year’s horror flick Bambi: The Reckoning faced a killer deer.

She has also played a princess in the TV show Dominion and a queen in the big budget Hollywood movie The Legend of Hercules.

The body count is even higher in the British thriller Bad Day at The Office, which opens in cinemas on October 30.

At the start Hannah plays a man who wakes up in a hotel room not knowing how a dead body ended up in his bathtub before mayhem ensues in London.

Roxanne smiles: “I was very excited to work with John Hannah, that was a dream come true.”

It is a film which requires the fitness fanatic to demonstrate her fight scene prowess.

Roxanne is hoping for even bigger budget action in the future.

She concludes: “I would like to do something like Mission Impossible, working with Tom Cruise would be fantastic, I love that he does all his own stunts.

“He’s so dedicated. You would learn so much.

“I love action and I love fitness and you really have to push yourself on those movies.

“I am still not where I was before becoming a mum but that’s okay.”
