The note saying the way he was treated by the after his Strictly axe “destroyed me.”

Last week, jurors at West London Coroner’s Court recorded Robin’s death as suicide.

They concluded: “We, the jury, having listened to the given evidence, have determined that Robin Jamie Windsor completed suicide…on February 19, 2024, at The Hoxton Hotel.

“We agree that the probable causes are an accumulation of many attributes contributing to depression.

“Robin Jamie Windsor suffered from childhood trauma.

“He was vulnerable to rejection both emotionally and professionally.

“We also agreed that loneliness, the lack of emotional maturity, the pressure of mounting debts, the lack of consistent mental health care and support, and recurring heartache are all contributing factors of Robin Jamie Windsor’s mental health deterioration which in turn led him to take his own life.”

Jurors previously heard how Robin was insecure about his body and took steroids which, combined with alcohol, would put him in a bad place.

The court was also told how he was “drowning in debts” and “frantically” spent on designer items he could not afford.

At the conclusion of the inquest HM Assistant Coroner Anton van Dellen offered his condolences to Robin’s sister Hayley, who was present in court.

He said: “I hope the family can take some comfort from the joy that Robin brought to so many people and the positive effect he had on so many people.

“That’s a wonderful legacy for Robin to leave.

“Hopefully you can think of the happy times – he brought so much joy to the public – and the deep affection the public held in him.”

How to get help

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide support:

A BBC spokesperson said: “Our sympathies are with Robin’s family, friends, and all who knew him.

“The whole of the Strictly Come Dancing family remain deeply saddened by his passing.

“Robin was a much loved member of the team – both on and off air – during his time on the show.

“As the inquest has heard this week and the jury concluded, several complex factors contributed to how Robin felt at the time of his tragic death and our thoughts remain with all who knew and loved Robin.”
