Shocking moment road-rage driver ‘whips out SWORD’ in terrifying confrontation with lone motorcyclist

THIS is the shocking moment a road-rage driver “whips out a sword”; and confronts a lone motorcyclist.

John Bingham, 59, was caught on camera squaring up to the female near his home in Bingham, Upperton on April 30 last year.

The sees the driver speeding ahead of the motorcyclist before stopping and pulling out what appears to be a sword.

The incident was captured on the ‘s head cam, which sees her narrowly escaping the angry driver by speeding off.

Earlier this week, Bingham appeared at Airdrie Sheriff , where he was sentenced to a six-month electronic tagging order after pleading guilty to charges of threatening and abusive behaviour.

The court heard that the the lone female rider near the village of Greengairs, following what he described as mounting tensions with .

Bingham’s lawyer said his client didn’t know it was a woman he had threatened – believing the person to be a gang member instead.

He also claimed the “sword”; was a shoe horn he used for putting on biking boots.

His lawyer said: “There has been a dispute over logos and so on.”;

“Mr Bingham has been the victim of intimidation and there have been instances of violence. He understands they were keeping him under surveillance.”;

He added: “He fully accepts this would have been a frightening experience for her and is sorry.

“He saw the complainer ride by followed by a van containing a number of individuals wearing balaclavas.

“Mr Bingham was anxious and accepts he followed her bike and forced her to stop.

“He emerged with a metal shoe horn that he keeps in his vehicle to help him put on his biking boots.

“He wanted to confront this person and ask why they were doing this.”;

n 2013, Bingham was cleared of murder at the High Court inafter admitting killing love rival Alister Milroy, reports the Daily Record.

The 44-year-old was stabbed five times in his kidney, spleen and liver.

This followed an altercation between the pair when it was revealed they had been in a relationship with the same woman.
