The video – filmed last weekend – shows one passenger calling her out, saying: “She needs reporting, that’s what she needs.”
Another passenger then chimes in and confronts the driver herself: “Why do you think the whole bus was disgusted by your reaction?”
The driver says something inaudible and the passenger responds: “Not after you talked to me like a dog. I’ll phone the police.”
Moments later, the driver appears to shout “f***ing do it” before bursting out of her cab and raging at passengers, telling them to “get off my f***ing bus”.
According to onlookers, she kept ranting until they reached Daventry Road, where stormed off – apparently leaving passengers locked inside.
One of the passengers reportedly used the bus radio to contact the company and explain the incident.
One witness said: “The bus driver turned on the passengers after leaving a young boy behind at a bus stop.
“Some passengers began telling her it was wrong but she then got angry, saying, ‘It’s my f***ing bus’.
“She continued ranting and arguing all the way to Daventry Road.
“Once there, she abandoned the bus, leaving all the passengers locked inside.
“One passenger had to use the bus radio to contact the bus company and explain what had happened.”
Some online have come to her defence, however, pointing out the daily challenges public transport staff face.
“And yet again we see these bus drivers getting verbally abused for doing their job”, one Facebook user commented.
Another added: “Never met a 21 bus driver who isn’t disturbed in some way. I wonder what this route does to people.”
A spokesperson for National Express West Midlands said: “We are aware of this incident and are following our internal processes.
“Our drivers are trained to treat all passengers fairly and respectfully. We treat any incidents of employee misconduct extremely seriously and do not condone it in any form.”
