Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, responded on Tuesday to the renewed conflict between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State.

Sani remarked that the ongoing dispute between Wike and Fubara has become reminiscent of a Tom and Jerry cartoon series.

In a post on X, the former lawmaker stated: “The Wike-Fubara issue has turned into a Tom and Jerry series.”

Wike cautioned that sudden support from President Bola Tinubu, expressed through the phrase “your mandate we shall stand,” will not ensure a ticket for the 2027 elections.

This statement came in response to Fubara's comment suggesting that Wike had not been straightforward in his support for Tinubu.

However, Wike indicated that several factors would be considered before he endorses Fubara's re-election campaign in 2027.

The Minister emphasized that Fubara must demonstrate that he is a trustworthy individual capable of effectively collaborating with the state’s legislators.
