The spokesperson for the Rivers State House of Assembly, Enemi George, has indicated that there may not be a political solution to halt the impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

George made this statement on Thursday during an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a program on Channels Television that was monitored by DAILY POST.

He further expressed that it undermines the credibility of the Rivers State House of Assembly if anyone suggests that their actions are solely politically motivated.

He accused the governor of repeatedly committing the same offenses, alleging that he is misusing public funds as if they were his personal resources.

“I question whether there is a political solution to prevent the impeachment of Fubara, as we have already seen numerous political solutions. What is the point of a political solution if he continues to say and do the same things?”

“Even if you wish to engage in politics, it should be done in accordance with the law, within its boundaries. If you allow yourself to violate the constitution, you cannot blame anyone for the repercussions of your actions. At this moment, we are focused on the law.”

“I believe that wherever President Bola Tinubu is, he must feel deeply offended by all of this because he is a human being just like you and I.”

“The president went through significant challenges to bring stakeholders together to establish this peace, and the governor has once again undermined that effort. You cannot continually break the law and expect the president to come to your aid,” the lawmaker stated.
