Rio Ngumoha contract update as Arsenal show ‘genuine’ interest in wonderkid, 18, with Liverpool desperate to keep winger

ARSENAL are keeping tabs on Liverpool wonderkid Rio Ngumoha as contract negotiations continue.

, 18, has been enjoying a meteoric rise at Anfield since last season and is rated as a future superstar.

According to The Mail , however, the winger has already attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world, such as the Gunners and Bayern Munich.

The North Londoners’ interest is currently not advanced and more exploratory, but still remains genuine.

, though, are keeping a beady eye on the international’s development with the same source suggesting they could pounce if first-team minutes become limited.

Ngumoha now faces competition for a place in new manager Andoni Iraola’s starting line-up following the arrival of summer signings Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola.

Nevertheless, the Merseysiders have issued a hands-off warning to all suitors as they are determined to fully invest on their former academy player’s talent.

Liverpool are in no hurry as Ngumoha’s contract runs until 2028 after signing the longest possible deal last year in September.

The club has been keen to reward the forward with a new and improved deal these past 12 months.

However, there are no developments regarding fresh contract for the teenage sensation.

Ngumoha is aware of interest from Arsenal, and beyond but is happy at Anfield.

And Liverpool see him as a future world beater and thus are determined to keep him beyond 2028.

In fact, there is full confidence the ex- academy ace will get minutes under Iraola this season.

Ngumoha counts a total of two goals and one assist in 35 appearances and has already picked up his debut England cap in a supporting role before last summer’s as he featured in a warm-up friendly against New Zealand.
