Venatius Ikem, Chairman of the opposition PDP in Cross River State, has alleged that the national ruling party, APC, are those instigating problems within his party.
He boasted that PDP is regaining popularity and momentum, sending fears into the ruling party, assuring that despite a few defections, the PDP structures remain intact.
In an exclusive interview with DAILY POST yesterday, Ikem said, “Clearly there is a national resurgence of popularity of our party that is making the ruling party restless enough to devote so much energy and resources to simulate a crisis in our party which doesn’t actually exist in reality.
“Someone somewhere is scared of leaving our platform to survive because of the potential it holds to retake power.”;
According to Ikem, PDP still has what he described as an enormous amount of goodwill in the party to encourage any aspirants deserving of an election to explore.
On whether PDP will have any marketable persons that may run in the governorship election, Ikem said, “There remains an enormous amount of goodwill in the party to encourage any aspirants deserving of an election to explore.”;
