Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has said that Permanent Voter’s Cards remain the only weapon in politics and not violence, warning against any form of political violence in the state.

The governor charged citizens in the state to participate actively in the ongoing voter registration exercise.

Idris made this call at the commissioning of the All Progressives Congress, APC, secretariat in Augie Local Government Area of the state.

Weighing in on a recent controversy, Governor Idris clarified a previous statement that he claimed was widely misinterpreted.

“What I meant when I said there is war, is that it’s a political war, a war to be fought with our PVCs. So I urge everyone to go and get their PVC,” he explained.

He frowned at the recent incidents of political violence in the state and appealed to citizens to reject all forms of political thuggery.

“Our administration will not tolerate any act of political violence. Kebbi State is known for its political peace and tranquility, and we intend to keep it that way,” he stated.
