But Pete and co-landlady Sophie McCreddie have converted a horse-box into a boozer on wheels, with a slide-out bar, to offer real ales, .
It will be kept outside the roadworks zone in Bildeston, , so it can be sent to a dozen small villages and hamlets until the huge water project is completed.

Sophie said: “A lot of our regulars come from the surrounding area.
“Now in spite of being cut off, if they can’t get to the pub — the pub can get to them.”
One regular said: “It’s a brilliant idea – I live four miles away so I have to use my car to get to the Kings Head.
“But having it come to my village would mean I don’t have to drive – or worry about being over the limit when I go home.”
Another thirsty local from a neighbouring hamlet said: “Their is great and you can’t get it anywhere else – so I look forward to drinking a proper pint out of doors on a warm evening.”
A local CAMRA member said: “This is an excellent idea – the Kings Head has built up a well-deserved reputation in the last couple of years since Pete and Sophie took over for serving an excellent pint of real ale.
“News of the diversion came as a serious blow to customers and regulars who have to drive there so being able to have a travelling pub is brilliant.”
